Here's my current favourite guitar; My blue strat.

This one is a partscaster made and wired by myself. It has a very special pickup set in it. The “chef's special” set from JJ's guitar pickups is the signature set of Australian guitarist Brett Kingman. It consists of two overwound 65's in the front, and an alnico 2 with a steel baseplate in the back. It's an absolute tone machine.
The body is alder, and the neck has been on a journey. Originally this had a very fat gloss neck. I was never in love with it. Last week I installed a satin roasted fender neck, the same as my tele, with a second string tree. All the hardware is Gotoh.

Once again, I think this rivals any custom shop at a fraction of a price. Any bolt on fender style guitar is very easy to create and mash together yourself.
